Word Sketches Book Coaching helps writers who want to bring their dream book into the world get the confidence, impetus, support, and guidance they need to make their most polished creation a reality that is ready for submission or publication and can land in a successful place in the marketplace. Nylda Dieppa, founder and director of WSBC, especially likes to support writers of color and marginalized communities that may experience publication barriers.

Who is Your Coach?

Award-winning author Nylda Dieppa has been supporting new and established authors informally for more than a decade. As the leader of the Maitland Writers Group, associated with Florida Writers Association, she listened to Central Florida writers’ needs and questions, organized presentations by experienced writers, journalists, and publishers at weekly meetings, and made occasional presentations herself. In these safe and enlightening spaces writers polished their craft, learned about the publishing industry, and developed long-lasting relationships of mutual support.

Eventually, Nylda decided to dedicate more of her time to her poetry and the support of literacy in Florida as a board member and Vice President of the Florida Writers Foundation. Although she was not organizing the Maitland Writers Group anymore, she continued informally mentoring writers who sought her support and realized there was a need for more organized and individually tailored services for writers struggling with writer’s block, overcoming impostor syndrome, and looking for assistance in the development of their books and deciding how to get them published. This is when she discovered the relatively new field of book coaching and decided to get certified as a book coach.

Nylda is currently enrolled in the memoir program with Author Accelerator and expects to be certified in 2025. With a specialty in memoir, she will also be qualified to work with fiction and non-fiction genres.
